In Lost Lagoon. This bird just rose up, flapped its wings a few times, then went back to swimming. Then did it again a couple minutes later. Adult female mallards have a patch of royal blue on their wings, best visible from behind, but I didn‘t see one here. So it might be a juvenile still learning how to fly. Which makes sense; ducks can swim and walk pretty well right from the start, so I guess they don‘t need to start flying right away.
