Not that doomsday crackpots haven’t tried to stir up fear of black holes swallowing the Earth, and whatnot.

I recently bought Bruce Springsteen’s We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions, a collection of American folk and gospel songs. Frankly, I’d never paid much attention to Springsteen; but one day on the train, I was listening to Dancing in the Dark and a coworker asked me if I had any other Springsteen songs on my iPod. I didn’t, so I went online, and found this album. What actually caught my eye was the title of one of the tracks: the famous Negro Spiritual hymn O Mary Don’t You Weep.
